New Year, New Name

SVBMedical has changed names to DeployED! It’s been a long process to settle on a new name for the business; SVBMedical was only ever meant to be temporary. 4 years on, it’s only just been shed.

Header trimDeployED (Event Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics) is the new name of the business, but the aim and focus is the same. Provide high quality medical services to events in remote or resource-poor environments.

The not-for-profit Blazing Swan Incorporated has been the catalyst for this development, providing a good cause to support, and allowing proof of concept of the Sea-Container clinic model. Their annual event, the Blazing Swan Festival now in its 5th year, is created and staffed entirely by volunteers and participants for one glorious explosion of light, creativity, colour and community which lasts a week, then leaves no trace.

As always, I’m volunteering all my time to coordinate the Blazing Swan Medical Corps (BSMC) and seeking out like-minded Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics who want to come to the Blazing Swan Festival and give something back to the community and home they never knew they had.

All in all, the change of name is refreshing. It fits. Skilled volunteers are the next step but I’m hoping that, with a little encouragement and the right people, everything will work out.

As the Blazing Swan Greeters say: “Welcome Home! Have you been here before?”…

Cheers
